PREVALENSI DAN KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN NEOPLASMA OVARIUM JINAK DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PERIODE JANUARI 2020 – DESEMBER 2022
Ovarian neoplasms are one of the most common causes of female patients being referred to obstetrics departments. The incidence and characteristics of benign ovarian neoplasms tend to vary in each population. This study aims to determine the prevalence and distribution of characteristics of patients with benign ovarian neoplasms at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital. This study is a descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional design with secondary data from the medical records of benign ovarian neoplasm patients at at the Medical Records Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. There were 105 (9.53%) cases of benign ovarian neoplasms. The most common type of benign ovarian neoplasm was surface-epithelial cell tumor (70.64%), histopathology type was endometrioid cyst (53.2%). Patients are mostly aged 30-39 years (33%), with multiparity (33.9%), reproductive menstrual status (82.6%), age at menarche above 12 years (67%), normal body mass index (56.9%), no contraception risk (90.8%), no history of gynecologic surgery (93.6%), no history of infertility (49.5%), complained of abdominal pain (40.4%), cystic appearance in ultrasound result (83.5%), underwent surgical treatment for cystectomy (40,4%), unilateral (78%), tumor size of < 8 cm (47.4%). Mean level of CA-125 was 122.37 ± 148.48 U/mL and mostly had CA-125 level > 35 U/mL (66,1%). In this study, benign ovarian neoplasms were found to be less frequent compared to previous research. Among the various types of tumors, surface-epithelial cell tumors are the most common.
