GAMBARAN STATUS GIZI PASIEN PASCASTROKE DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Nutritional status is a crucial factor for stroke patients. A stroke is defined as a sudden neurological disorder caused by impaired blood perfusion to the brain vessels. Malnutrition commonly occurs in stroke patients, with prevalence ranging from 6.1% to 62%. The decline in nutritional status among stroke patients has negative impacts on the rehabilitation process, complications, and functional capacity, and increases the mortality rate. This study aims to delineate the nutritional status of post-stroke patients at the DR. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital. The research methodology used is descriptive observational with a cross-sectional approach. The sample includes post-stroke patients in the neurology clinic of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from September to November 2023 who meet the inclusion criteria. Nutritional status is measured using Body Mass Index (BMI) and Subjective Global Assessment (SGA). Sampling was done through total sampling. In this study, 38 patients met the inclusion criteria. Patients with obesity based on BMI were 12 patients (31.6%), 11 patients (28.9%) were underweight, 8 patients (21.1%) were overweight, and 7 patients (18.4%) had a normal BMI. Based on SGA, the nutritional status of patients with moderate/poor nutrition was 19 patients (50%), 11 patients (28%) had good nutrition, and 8 patients (21.1%) had poor nutrition. The majority of post-stroke patients had obesity and were underweight according to BMI, while based on SGA scores, the majority had moderate/poor nutrition.
