Background. Cerumen impaction is an accumulation of cerumen that causes symptoms, obstructing necessary assessment of the ear canal, tympanic membrane, audio-vestibular system or both. Cerumen impaction can block the external auditory canal or can press on the tympanic membrane. If someone picks their ears too often it can cause the cerumen to become hard or dense. This often results in temporary hearing loss. If this habit persists in school children, it can have a negative impact on their learning performance. This study aims to determine the characteristics of Cerumen Impaction in The ENT-HN Division RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Period of 2021-2022. Methods. This research used descriptive observational method using secondary data. The data used is all patient data with a diagnosis of cerumen impaction in The ENT-HN Division RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Period of 2021–2022 who meets the inclusion criteria. The minimum sample calculation results are 54. The sampling technique is total sampling. Results. The number of samples in this study was 74 patients. Most cerumen impaction patients are aged between 0-10 years, namely 27%. Based on gender, it was found that more cerumen impaction patients were female (56.8%) than male (43.2%). Based on the distribution of anatomical locations, the highest incidence of cerumen impaction in patients was in the right ear (51,4%). Cerumen impaction patients most often experience the main symptom in the form of a feeling of ear fullness (45.9%). The most common treatment given to cerumen impaction patients is irrigation/spooling treatment (59.5%). Conclusion. The majority of cerumen impaction patients are in the 0-10 year age group with female gender, the anatomical location is more often found in the right ear, the main complaint is ear fullness, with irrigation/spooling treatment options.
