EFEK INHIBISI EKSTRAK N-HEKSANA DAUN BENALU KERSEN (DENDROPHTHOE PENTANDRA (L) MIQ.) TERHADAP XANTIN OKSIDASE
Background. Kersen leaf extract has the effect of inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme and cherry mistletoe leaves also have the same properties considering that they are hemiparasites with their host. This study aims to determine the effect of n-hexane extract from mistletoe cherry leaves on the xanthine oxidase enzyme. Method. This research is an in vitro experimental research. The samples used were cherry mistletoe leaves that were treated with n-hexane solvent, followed by phytochemical screening and testing the effect of xanthine oxidase inhibition with allopurinol as a positive control and examined using a spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 400 ppm. Results. N-hexane extract from cherry mistletoe leaves contains alkaloids and triterpenoids. The IC50 value for the n-hexane extract of cherry mistletoe leaves is 162 ppm in the medium category. Conclusion. N-hexane extract of cherry mistletoe leaves has the effect of inhibiting xanthine oxidase.
