Introduction. Metabolic Syndrome is defined as a collection of 5 non-communicable diseases, namely hypertension, central obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypertriglyceridemia, and low HDL. Epidemiological data said that the global prevalence of metabolic syndrome reaches 20 – 25%. Metabolic syndrome is one cause of lack of physical activity. Physical inactivity is increasing throughout the world, in Indonesia physical activity is still relatively low, namely 33.5% below 50%. So researchers feel it is necessary to conduct research to see whether there is a relationship between physical activity and the incidence of metabolic syndrome. Methods. This research was designed using an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. There were 66 samples that met the inclusion criteria. After the data was collected, analysis was carried out using the 27th edition of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Primary data consists of direct examination of blood pressure, waist circumference, lipid profile, body weight and height on respondents and questionnaires given to respondents. Result. Of the total 66 samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 71.2% of hypertensive sufferers experienced metabolic syndrome. There is a significant relationship between physical activity and metabolic syndrome (p = 0.000, OR CI 95% light compared to heavy activity = 80.5 (6.31 – 1026.02) and OR CI 95% moderate compared to heavy activity = 7 (1, 24 – 39.49).
