Background: Dyspepsia is a heterogeneous collection of symptoms in the upper abdomen such as postprandial fullness, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, bloating in the upper abdomen, burning sensation, and regurgitation. The prevalence of dyspepsia worldwide ranges from 15-40% of the population. Stress, irregular eating, and irritating diet are risk factors that can cause dyspepsia. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between stress levels, irregular eating, and irritating diet with dyspepsia in PSPD student of the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Method: This study is an observational analitic study with a cross-sectional study design. It was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University, Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The sample size meeting the inclusion criteria was 262 students, while 45 students were excluded based on the criteria. Data was collected using a questionnaire through Google Forms which was the analyzed using SPSS with a chi-square test. Results: The results of the univariate analysis revealed that the highest of respondents was female, which was 63,4% of the total. In this study, 60,3% of students experienced stress, 31,7% of students with irregular eating patterns, 11,5% of students with irritative diets, and 63,7% of students experienced dyspepsia. The bivariate analysis results indicated a relationship between stress levels and dyspepsia (p=0.003). However, there was no relationship between irregular eating patterns and dyspepsia (p=0.563), nor between an irritating diet and dyspepsia (p=0.245). Conclusion: there is a relationship between stress levels and dyspepsia, while no relationship was found between irregular eating patterns and an irritating diet with dyspepsia among students in the PSPD of the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University.
