PT GGB is one of the private companies engaged in coal mining located in Prabumenang Village, East Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. It is divided into 3 mining blocks, namely Zebra Block, Kijang Block, and North Block. However, currently, the company is operating in 2 pits, namely Zebra Block and North Block. Based on the feasibility study document, PT GGB Zebra Block with a Mining Business License (IUP) for production operations covering 359.16 hectares has proven reserves of 23,172,467 tons with a stripping ratio of 1:4.34, with plans to increase coal production from 1,000,000 tons per year to 2.000.000 tons per year in the Zebra Block. To achieve this target, the addition of excavation and transportation equipment is crucial to increase production capacity. In this regard, the method used is the equipment purchase method. The equipment purchase method involves investment components such as equipment purchase costs, operating costs, and ownership costs that will affect investment feasibility, such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period.From productivity calculations, the required number of Excavator Liugong CLG 952E units is 1, while the number of Dumptruck Quester CWE 37064R units required is 5. The total investment cost in 5 years is IDR 117.827.301.890, with details of equipment purchase costs for 1 units of Excavator Backhoe Liugong CLG 952E and 5 units of Dumptruck Quester CWE 37064R totaling IDR 12.124.750.000. The total Operating Cost is IDR 94.268.337.590, and the total Ownership Cost is IDR 11.434.214.300. The purchase of excavation and transportation equipment results in an NPV of IDR 47.665.079.897, an IRR of 98,62%, and a Payback Period of 1,01 years. From this feasibility analysis, it can be concluded that the investment in the purchase of excavation and transportation equipment is viable.
