Background. Ovarian carcinoma is a malignant tumor that develops from the ovary (ovaries). It may present as a primary malignancy in the ovary or as a secondary malignancy that spreads to other organs through the process of metastasis from the ovary. Ovarian carcinoma is one of the most common gynecologic cancers and ranks 3rd after cervical and uterine cancers. Ovarian carcinoma has a poor prognosis and high mortality rate. This study aims to determine the prevalence and characteristics of ovarian carcinoma patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital for the period 2020-2022. Method. This type of research was descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional research design, using secondary data obtained from medical record data in the Medical Record Installation at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang for the period 2020-2022. Results. This study showed that of the 17.889 total patients in the gynecological oncology clinic at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital in the 2020-2022 period, there were 1.465 incidents of ovarian carcinoma, with a prevalence of 8.18%. Based on sociodemographic characteristics, 62.5% of patients were >45 years old, 51.5% of patients had a high school education level, 71.5% had a housewife occupation, 87% were married, 94% had a menarche age ≥12 years, 68% fell into the normal BMI category, 43.5% had a history multiparous parity, 86% had a histopathological type of epithelial tumor, 49% were in stage III, and 64% had CA-125 levels >35 U/mL.
