Background : Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease caused by dengue virus infection. Indonesia is included in the top 5 highest dengue endemic countries in the world. DHF cases are the main cause of fever cases that need hospitalization. DHF diagnosis criteria are based on clinical conditions and laboratory examination results. A decrease in platelet count and an increase in hematocrit indicate plasma leakage that can aggravate the degree of DHF. This study aims to see whether there is an association of platelet count and hematocrit value with the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method : This study used a type of analytical observational research with a cross-sectional study design. The analysis was carried out by univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis to see the association of platelet count and hematocrit value with the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients. Result : Based on research from 68 samples, the results of bivariate analysis using the Fisher's exact test showed no association of platelet count (p=0,152) with the length of hospitalization of DHF children. The results of the Chi-square test analysis showed no association of hematocrit value (p=1,000), age (p=0,493), and sex (p=0,467) with the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients, while the DHF severity had a significant association with the length of hospitalization of child DHF (p=0.038). The results of multivariate analysis with logistic regression showed that the severity of DHF had the strongest influence on the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients (p=0,021). Conclusion : The severity is associated with the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients, while platelet count, hematocrit value, age, sex, and severity are not associated with the length of hospitalization of pediatric DHF patients. Keywords : Platelets, Hematocrit, Length of hospitalization, DHF.
