KINETIKA DELIGNIFIKASI BATANG PISANG YANG DIBERI PRAPERLAKUAN ALKALINE MICROWAVE-ASSISTED.
Banana stem waste is a source of lignocellulose biomass with high cellulose content and abundant availability in Indonesia. In this study will investigate the kinetics of delignification of banana stems given alkaline pretreatment and alkaline microwave-assisted. Banana stem waste is given preliminary treatment with the help of alkaline and microwave alkaline so that lignin levels contained in lignocellulose biomass are reduced and cellulose levels increase. In basic pretreatment, 6% KOH is added to lignocellulose and heated to a hotplate with variations in contact time (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 minutes) with temperature variations (55, 65, 75, 85, and 95oC). In pretreatment, a 6% alkaline microwave-assisted solution of KOH is added to the lignocellulose and heated for 20 minutes with temperature variations (55, 65, 75, 85, and 95oC), then microwaved with variations in contact time (55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 minutes). After pretreatment, the sample was analyzed using the Chesson method to determine cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin levels. The results of the analysis showed that alkaline pretreatment with the help of alkalis and microwaves effectively lowered lignin levels and increased cellulose levels in lignocellulose. The best results in both pretreatments were obtained at a temperature of 95oC with a contact time of 50 minutes, namely in alkaline pretreatement the cellulose content was 64.38% and lignin was 8.13%, then in alkaline microwave-assisted obtained cellulose content was 68.27% and lignin was 6.24%. Alkaline pretreatment and alkaline microwave-assisted pretreatment follow the kinetic model of first-order delignification with activation energy (Ea) values of 22.79 KJ/mol and 18.59 KJ/mol, respectively.
