Buildings are one of the causal factors of global warming because buildings have the potential to produce more than 40% of carbon gas emissions. One way to overcome the problem of global warming in the construction sector is to build green buildings. This paper aims to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors for contractor companies in Palembang City in adopting green buildings. The questionnaire was distributed via Google Form and visited the contractor company's office directly. The questionnaire assessment uses a Likert scale. The results of the questionnaire were tested for the validity and reliability of the data using SPSS version 26 software. The results show that there are several significant factors that support contractor companies in Palembang City in adopting green buildings, namely providing education to owners about the importance of environmentally friendly buildings, setting standards for green building design, and customer requests. Apart from that, there are several dominant factors that are obstacles in adopting green buildings for contractor companies in Palembang City, namely lack of knowledge about green buildings, lack of best practices and lessons learned regarding green buildings, and lack of socialization from the government regarding saving energy sources that support green buildings.
