GASIFIKASI SERBUK KAYU PADA UPDRAFT GASIFIER DENGAN GAS KELUAR DARI PEMBAKARAN MELALUI METODE DIHEMBUS.
Gasification is a technological process that converts solid fuel into gaseous fuel, also known as synthesis gas (abbreviated as syngas). Gasification technology has high efficiency and environmentally friendly. One biomass that can replace alternative energy is wood sawdust. This research will be carried out on an updraft gasifier with gas coming out of combustion with the aim of getting the operating characteristics of the gasification, knowing how long the flame is produced, knowing the Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) in each test and getting a visualization of the test flame. This research uses experimental methods, by making direct observations to obtain causal data through experiments. From the test results, it was found that the average operating time for the three tests was 1 hour 15 minutes. Then, the average flame time is 57 minutes. Flame percentage 76% of operating time. The air fuel ratio (AFR) from the three tests averaged 9.28. Based on the color of the flame in the research that has been carried out, it is dominated by a reddish yellow color, which means that there is a lot of combustible gas contained in the syngas. The average length of the flame is 40-50 cm. The flame will get longer as the speed of the air flowing into the gasifier increases. This is because the greater the speed of the incoming air flow, the faster the push of the syngas coming out of the burner, so that the flame resulting from burning the syngas will be higher.
