STUDI PALEOBATIMETRI, IKLIM PURBA DAN PALEOEKOLOGI LINTASAN SUNGAI LENGKAYAP DESA BATU PUTIH KECAMATAN BATURAJA BARAT KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ULU SUMATERA SELATAN.
The research activities carried out in the Lengkayap River Pass Gumai Formation of Batuputih Area surroundings. Administratively, this research was conducted in Batuputih Village and its surroundings, West Baturaja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research site is divided into nine locations with carbonate sandstone and carbonate mudstone lithologies. The research aim to identify ancient climate and bathymetry environment through the analysis of planktonic and benthonic foraminifera fossils. The method used in analyzing ancient climate is quantitative analysis of each foraminifera species, analyzing the bathymetric environment with the fathoms fossil and plankton/benthos ratio method. The analyzing of the paleoecology use triangle murray or Sub ordo ratio. Based on the results of paleontological analysis, planktonic foraminifera species with the genus Globigerinoides, Globiquadrina, and Globorotalia were obtained which showed as species characteristic of tropical – subtropical climates with warm conditions with sea water temperatures ranging from 17-14oC. Meanwhile, the analysis of the bathymetry environment in the study area is interpreted that the bathymetry environment is located in the neritic zone in the form of edge neritic to outer neritic. Paleoecology of this research dominated of hypersaline lagoon zone.
