ANALISIS DETERMINAN FINANCIAL DEPTH DI NEGARA BRICS.
This research aims to explore the impact of interest rates, exchange rates, inflation, and population growth on financial depth in the context of BRICS countries. Secondary data in the form of cross-section and time series from 1997 to 2021 are utilized, involving all five BRICS nations. Data is sourced from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Quantitative analysis is conducted using panel data regression in the form of a Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The research findings indicate that interest rates, inflation, and population growth have a negative and significant influence on financial depth, while the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect. From these findings, it is suggested that BRICS countries, such as Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa, adopt an approach aligned with the measures taken by China, which exhibits optimal financial depth among BRICS members. A focus on enhancing financial literacy and inclusion is expected to be an effective strategy to stimulate economic growth and expand the financial market comprehensively.
