This research aims to develop a Powtoon-based learning media in writing descriptive text material for students at SMP Negeri 2 Belitang to help make it easier for students to understand writing good and correct descriptive texts in accordance with the provisions. The research method used is the R&D development research method with the ADDIE research procedure (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This research uses data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, and small group trials. The result of this research is an interactive learning video product which contains narrative elements, narrator's voice, animation, characters and music. This product has undergone media validation, material validation and language validation with very valid results and is ready to be tested on small groups. Through this research, researchers hope that it will be useful for teachers, students and future researchers.
