ANALISIS KUALITAS PERAIRAN SUNGAI SEKANAK KOTA PALEMBANG BERDASARKAN INDEKS SAPROBIK PLANKTON DAN SUMBANGANNYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
The aim of this research was to determine the community structure and saprobic index of plankton in the waters of the Sekanak River, Palembang City and the results of PCA on environmental parameters. The research used purposive sampling method with nine stations. The results found six classes of plankton, namely Ciliata, Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Conjugatophyceae, Cyanophycae and Euglenophyceae. The plankton abundance index ranged from 67.4-145.8 and plankton diversity index ranged from 1,52-2,03 belonging to moderate community diversity & stability. The saprobic index ranged from -0,8-0,5 with α -mesosaprobic and β/α-mesosaprobic phases with indicating severe-moderate levels of pollution, sources of pollutants in the form of organic and inorganic materials. Total plankton genera that have been identified based on their saprobic phase are, polysaprobic (3 genera), α-mesosaprobic (4 genera), β-mesosaprobic (15 genera) and oligosaprobic (2 genera). Based on the results of PCA analysis of plankton community structure on environmental parameters, the saprobic index contributes more to stations 3, 5 and 6 with the identified parameters DO, BOD, brightness and abundance. The highest abundance of plankton at station 2 was negatively correlated with current velocity and TDS. The results of this study were presented in the form of LKPD for KD 3.11 at Tenth Grade Biology of Senior High School, related to the material of Environmental Changes.
