PSYCHOLOGY OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE NOVEL DISFORIA INERSIA BY WIRA NAGARA AND THE IMPLICATIONS FOR LITERATURE TEACHING ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the psychology of the main character in the novel Disforia Inersia by Wira Nagara and the implications for literature teaching. This study is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive method. The theory used in this study was Sigmund Freud’s personality theory. The data collection techniques in this study were reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this study show that the main character has three personality structures, namely id, ego, and superego. There are 37 data showing the psychology of the main character that consists of 21 id data, 12 ego data, and 4 superego data. The results of this study show that id data is more than ego and superego. The results of this study can be implicated for literature teaching at senior high school grade XII, namely on the Basic Competency (KD) 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of the novel.
