needs of students and teachers of class X SMA Negeri 20 Palembang on learning videos using the powtoon application on negotiating text material, (2) describe the results of the design of learning videos using the powtoon application on negotiating text material, ( 3) describe the results of expert validation of learning videos using the powtoon application on the material for writing negotiating texts for class X students of SMA Negeri 20 Palembang. The type of research used in this research is research and development (R&D). The development model used in this study is the Alessi and Trollip development model which consists of 3 stages, namely the planning stage, the design stage and the development stage. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and expert validation tests. This learning video using the powtoon application was developed based on the results of an analysis of the needs of students and teachers at SMA Negeri 20 Palembang. Expert validation is carried out with 3 aspects, namely media aspects, material aspects and language aspects. The media aspect validation assessment is in the very valid category, the material aspect validation assessment is in the very valid category, and the language aspect assessment is in the very valid category. Based on the validation of the three experts, it can be concluded that the learning videos using the powtoon application for writing materials for negotiating texts for class X SMA Negeri 20 Palembang are declared very suitable for use in learning activities.
