Waste is one of the problems in the city of Palembang, so the government is anticipating it by building TPS spread across the city of Palembang. However, in reality, many TPS do not have waste management and a lot of rubbish is scattered around the TPS, which can give rise to disease-carrying vectors such as flies. This has an impact on the health of people living around the TPS. This research is a type of quantitative research using an analytical survey method with a cross sectional design. The number of samples taken in the research was 67 respondents and TPS. Where each respondent taken is one TPS officer per TPS. The data obtained was analyzed univariately and bivariately and presented in the form of tables and narratives to interpret the research data. The research aims to determine the relationship between waste management and fly density levels at temporary collection points (TPS) in the city of Palembang. The results of the research showed that the level of fly density in the Palembang City TPS was high at 39 TPS and low at 28 TPS. In waste sorting, there are 40 TPS in the bad category and 27 TPS in the good category. In the bad category there were 34 TPS for waste collection and 33 TPS for good. As well as transporting bad category waste to 21 TPS and good category to 46 TPS. And the results showed that there was a relationship between waste sorting and fly density levels with a p-value of 0.004. Meanwhile, there is no relationship between waste collection and fly density levels with a p-value of 0.695, and waste transportation and fly density levels with a p-value of 0.235. The suggestion in this research is that people separate organic and inorganic waste and dispose of waste in TPS containers.
