This study aims to describe the affixation of verb forms in the articles of the Tribun Sumsel daily newspaper, covering: 1) form of affixation, and 2) the meaning of affixation. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the method of observing and noting to classify data. The results of this study: 1) form of verb forming affixes, and 2) The meaning found is in the form of denotative meaning and connotative meaning. The total data obtained is 31 data, consisting of prefixes ber- 8 data, men- 4 data, me- 6 data, mem- 3 data, meny- 1 data, meng- 3 data, and confix meng-i 2 data, men-kan 3 data, meny-kan 1 data. The denotative meaning is the actual meaning, while the connotative meaning is figurative meaning or additional meaning. This study focuses on affixation processes that contain metaphorical figures of speech, so that the meaning that arises because of the affixes attached to the base word. There are transitive verbs and intransitive verbs which are formed from the process of deriving words.
