The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of hand puppet media on the listening skills of fairy tales for second grade students at SD Negeri 05 Indralaya. This study used a pre-experimental design method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all grade II students at SD Negeri 05 Indralaya. The sample in this study were 23 students who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice test. The data analysis technique used in this study was the Paired Sample t-test, which was first tested for normality and homogeneity. The results of the study showed that the experimental group obtained an average pretest score of 57.39 and a posttest average score of 74.78. The results obtained from the calculation of the Paired Samples t-test with a significant level of α = 0.05 is sig. 0.000 where sig. 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the results of the Paired Sample t-test, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of hand puppet media on the listening skills of class II students at SDN 05 Indralaya.
