ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MATEMATIKA MATERI PERBANDINGAN BERBALIK NILAI
Mathematics is a science that has been taught from an early age from kindergarten to university. However, most students in Indonesia have poor learning outcomes, according to Usman (2018) saying that Indonesian students have poor quality learning outcomes, this statement can be seen from the results of his research which says that 75% of Indonesian students fail to achieve basic math skills. Therefore the researcher is very interested in conducting this research with the aim of knowing the types of common mistakes that are often made by students, especially the students' ability to solve mathematical modeling problems, material for comparison of values. This study used the quantitative method with the aim of showing more accurately the students' mistakes in working on mathematical modeling problems of value-reversal comparisons using Newman's procedural guidelines. Types of errors that are often made by students in solving mathematical modeling problems of material comparison of reversed values based on error analysis of the Newman procedure, namely the largest percentage of types of errors that are often made by students in solving material modeling problems of comparison of reversed values are errors in writing answers (Encoding) and the smallest types of errors is an error in reading the problem, from each error, the percentage of total errors made by students in working on mathematical modeling problems, the ratio of turning points is 42.3%
