This study aims to determine the effect of population and local native income (PAD) on the GDP of districts and cities in South Sumatra province for the period 2011–2021. This research is descriptive-quantitative, using pane data regression analysis, and the best method used in this study is the fixed effect model. The results of the research show that simultaneously, the population and PAD affect the GDP of districts and cities in South Sumatera Province. Partially, the population does not have a significant effect; this is due to the lack of labor absorption in the labor-intensive sector in South Sumatra Province. PAD has a significant effect on GDP; this is due to the large contribution of tax revenue, especially in the mining and quarrying sector in South Sumatra Province.
