ANALISIS KETERKAITAN INDUSTRI PENGOLAHAN DI PULAU SUMATERA
The Manufacturing Industry is an industry that has a high contribution to Gross Domestic Product in Indonesia, so this study aims to analyze the linkage of the manufacturing industry on the island of Sumatra using the Interregional Input Output Table 52 Industries, 34 Provinces of Indonesia in 2016. The analysis method used is the input-output model. The main focus of this research is to identify leading industrial sectors and inter-industry linkages. The results show that the food, chemical, and metal-electronic goods sectors are leading sectors with high direct forward linkages in some provinces, such as Aceh. On the other hand, the coal, oil and gas refining, tobacco and machinery sectors show low linkages. Similar patterns are seen in other provinces such as North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi and South Sumatra, with different leading sectors. The analysis of dependence on domestic resources, imports from other provinces, and foreign imports reflects the diversity of industrial raw material supply strategies in different provinces. Although some industries rely more on domestic resources, challenges in obtaining local raw materials still exist, especially in the tobacco manufacturing industry. Therefore, in formulating industrial development strategies in Sumatra Island, policies that support the sustainable utilization of local resources are needed.
