Scabies is the most common skin disease suffered by prisoners at the Class IIA Tanjung Raja Prison. This study aims to analyse the relationship between personal hygiene and environmental sanitation conditions with the incidence of scabies at the Class IIA Tanjung Raja Prison. This study used a quantitative method with a case-control design. The study population was all prisoners at the Class IIA Tanjung Raja Penitentiary then a sample of 150 with 75 cases and 75 controls using proportional random sampling. Data analysis used chi-square test and multiple logistic regression test. The results of data analysis showed the incidence of scabies was 75 people (50%). The results of the chi-square test showed a significant relationship between latrine conditions (p-value = 0.002), skin hygiene (p-value = 0.000), hand hygiene (p-value = 0.029), and towel hygiene (p-value = 0.000) with the incidence of scabies in Class IIA Tanjung Raja Prison. Variables that are not associated with the incidence of scabies include the availability of clean water (p- value = 0.693), occupancy density (p-value = 0.623), clothing hygiene (p-value = 0.471), and bed hygiene (p-value = 0.225). The results of the multiple logistic regression test found that the dominant factor in the incidence of scabies was skin hygiene (p-value = 0.000 and OR = 8.606) after being controlled by latrine conditions, hand hygiene, and towel hygiene. The conclusion of this study is that there are four variables that are related, namely latrine conditions, skin hygiene, hand hygiene and towel hygiene while the unrelated variables are the availability of clean water, occupancy density, bed hygiene and clothing hygiene with the dominant risk factor being skin hygiene. Suggestions for this study are expected for prisoners to be able to apply good personal hygiene and maintain environmental sanitation conditions to keep it clean and healthy so that they can avoid scabies disease.
