HUBUNGAN KADAR DEBU TOTAL (TSP) DENGAN GANGGUAN FUNGSI PARU PADA PETUGAS PENYAPU JALAN DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Total Suspended Particulate is a pollutant that has a negative impact on the human body and can cause health problems. Street sweeping officers are a job that is considered vulnerable to respiratory problems due to exposure to dust originating from the work environment. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between total suspended particulate (TSP) with impaired lung function on street sweepers in Palembang. This research uses quantitative methods with univariate and bivariate analysis using chi square test and design cross sectional. In this study, the population was street sweepers in Palembang consisting of 95 workers based on 2022 Palembang City DLHK data and a sample of 68 respondents taken using the technique proportional random sampling. Data collection used Haz-Dust Model EPAM 5000 to measure Total Suspended Particulate, spirometry to determine impaired lung function , and questionnaires to determine the characteristics of respondents. As many as 79,4% of street sweepers in Palembang have restructive lung funnction disorders, 4,4% have obstructive lung function disorders, and 16,2% have normal lung function. The results of cross tabulation of the total suspended particulate (p-value :0.751), age (p-value :1,000), gender (p-value :0.743), working time (p-value :0.743), exercise habits (p-value :0.316) and nutritional status (p-value :0.179) was not proven to be significantly related to impaired lung function. It can be concluded that there are no variable related to impaired lung function in street sweepers in Palembang. It would be better for officers to take better care of their health and also carry out health checks and health outreach.
