PENGARUH KONTROL DIRI TERHADAP PERILAKU MENABUNG PADA MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN EKONOMI FAKULTAS KEGURUAN DAN ILMU PENDIDIKAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
This study aims to prove the effect of self-control on saving behaviour in Economic Education Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University. This research is a causal associative research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all economic education students of FKIP Sriwijaya University Academic Year 2020, totalling 72 students. Sampling using the Simple Random Sampling technique, which does not pay attention to strata so that the entire population is considered homogeneous, totalling 61 students. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale model and interviews. Instrument validation uses the Product Moment Correlation formula and the reliability test uses the Cronbach Alpha formula. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of self-control on saving behaviour in Economic Education Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University. The hypothesis using parametric statistics, namely the t-test, obtained that t_count = 6.709 ≥ t_table = 1.671, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The effect of self-control variable is 0.6578 which indicates that 43.27% of saving behaviour variable can be explained by self-control variable. It is recommended to all students to be able to develop one of the potentials, namely self-control so that their behaviour leads to positive things such as saving activities.
