Research on the development of learning media in the form of video-based InShot in writing the text of the observation report for class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang, the aim is to (1) describe the needs of students and teachers for application-based learning videos InShot on the writing material of the observation report text for class VII students and SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang teachers, (2) produce an application-based learning video design InShot on the material for writing the text of the observation report for class VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang, (3) describing the results of expert validation of the design of application-based learning videos InShot on the material text of the observation report for class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang. This study uses five stages of research and development Borg and Gall. Qualitative data in this study were obtained from interviews, while quantitative data were obtained from needs questionnaires and validation. The results of media validation were 109 (91%), material validation were 47 (94%), and language validation were 35 (100%). Based on the results of expert validation, the learning media is in the form of video basedInShot in writing the text of the observation report for class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang in the very good category and declared very feasible.
