This study aims to determine the increase in children's critical thinking skills by using the STEAM approach in learning. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The background is the lack of critical thinking skills of B3 group children in Pembina 1 Palembang Kindergarten due to the lack of activity of children in learning such as no children drawing conclusions at the end of learning,no children asking questions during learning and the learning is still teachercentered. Based on the results of PLP observations and cursory re-observations at TKN Pembina 1 Palembang, a pre-cycle was carried out, namely identifying children who experienced problems with critical thinking as many as 14 children (88%) and children who received BSH as many as 2 children or 12%. The research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings using the Kemmis Mc Taggart research model, each cycle includes: the Planning Stage, the Action Stage, the Observation Stage and the Reflection Stage. The sample used was B3 group children using a purposive sampling technique on the grounds that B3 group children still lacked the ability to think critically. The data collection technique is observation using a checklist sheet. Based on the results of data analysis of critical thinking skills, there were: in cycle 1 there were 5 children in the BSH category (31%) and in cycle II there were 12 children in the BSH category (75%). It can be said that there was an increase in critical thinking skills, from cycle I to cycle II as many as 7 children in the BSH category (44%). It can be concluded that the STEAM approach is able to improve critical thinking skills. For this reason, it is suggested that teachers can apply the STEAM approach in learning.
