Students are a group of teenagers aged 12-24 years old. At this age, teenagers are vulnerable to depression. This can happen because they are busy with various activities accompanied by thesis work which takes up time, mind, and energy. This can lead to various disorders that can affect the nutritional status of students. Students who are working on their final project tend to neglect good eating habits, resulting in overeating or undereating. Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between depression levels and nutritional status among senior college students at Sriwijaya University in 2023. The type of research is cross-sectional. The subjects in this study were 180 eighth-semester senior college students who met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. The sample size was taken using Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. The statistical analysis of this research used the Chi-Square correlation test. The depression level was obtained through the use of a depression questionnaire, while nutritional status was measured using anthropometric assessments based on body mass index. In this study, the majority of research subjects were female (79.44%), subjects who suffered from depression (74.44%), and had abnormal nutritional status (58%). Based on bivariate analysis, there was no significant relationship between depression levels and nutritional status (p=0.059). The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between depression levels and nutritional status. Students are expected to pay attention to their psychological condition and regulate their food intake to maintain optimal nutritional status.
