A hospital is a public building and has many potential dangers, including fire. As with other incidents, fires that occur in hospitals can be caused by various things, including the nature of various work in hospitals, such as medical activities, activities that cannot be separated from the use of electrical equipment and also intensive fire sources, electrical current connections, and others. Not only that, in hospitals there are also various kinds of chemicals with different properties and characteristics, such as chemicals with flammable, explosive, oxidizing and other properties that can cause fires. Vita Insani Pematangsiantar Hospital basically has an active fire protection system and life-saving facilities. However, there are still several components that do not comply with the regulations. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the implementation of the Active Fire Protection System and Life Saving Facilities at the Vita Insani Pematangsiantar Hospital. The method of this research is qualitative with data collection methods such as interviews, field observations and document review. The results of the research show that the active fire protection system at Vita Insani Pematangsiantar Hospital is categorized not really well or not truly complying with regulations, with a percentage value 39,3%. while means of escape are categorized well or complying with regulations, with a percentage value 78,9%. The implementation of an active fire protection system in this hospital still requires improvements. but it needs some improvement in placement and maintenance are still needed. Meanwhile, the implementation of means of escape is in accordance with regulations, but it is recommended to always makes sure about the safety of the gathering place and provide a sign of at designated locations.
