DAMPAK KONSUMSI MINUMAN BERKAFEIN TERHADAP KESEHATAN PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA.
In 2011, there was an increase in daily coffee consumption among adolescents aged 18-24 years. Caffeine consumption has increased by 98% in the last 10 years. Some studies of coffee have good properties, if not within the limits of consumption, coffee can have a bad impact on body health. There are few data regarding consumption patterns and side effects of caffeine among university students. Therefore, in this study the authors examined the consumption patterns and side effects of caffeinated beverages on students, the methodology used was a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. The results of the study found that students often consumed caffeinated beverages, and 60% felt that there were side effects on health. The results showed that respondents who frequently consumed caffeinated beverages were identified as experiencing some side effects on their health, resulting in a proportion of 75%, while respondents who rarely consumed caffeinated beverages were identified as having no side effects on their health, resulting in a proportion of 68.8%. Researchers expect students to be able to consume caffeine within limits and take advantage of making other alternatives to shift caffeine consumption to a healthier one.
