Indonesia is one of the countries with a region prone to earthquakes, one of which is Nagari Aua Kuniang, Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra. The community residing in disaster-prone areas, particularly earthquake-prone areas, is urged to be prepared in facing earthquakes. Therefore, understanding preparedness, especially for heads of households, aims to enhance community preparedness in facing earthquakes. This research aims to determine the level of community preparedness in facing earthquake disasters in Nagari Aua Kuniang, Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra. This research employs a descriptive research design with quantitative data analysis. The population in this study consists of all heads of households in Nagari Aua Kuniang, totaling 4,507 families. The sample size for this study is 103 households, calculated using the Lemeshow formula. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, employing inclusion and exclusion criteria for sample selection. The research results indicate that the level of community preparedness in facing earthquakes in Nagari Aua Kuniang is categorized as unprepared at 52.4%, with the following values for each preparedness parameter: knowledge at 98.1% is good, attitude at 87.4% is good, emergency response plan at 63.1% is good, disaster warning system at 88.3% is less good, and resource mobilization at 92.2% is less good. This indicates that the community in Nagari Aua Kuniang is still inadequately prepared for earthquakes. Therefore, there is a need for community empowerment through the formation of disaster response teams and the development of contingency plans related to earthquake disasters, which should then be socialized and simulated for the community to enhance their preparedness in facing earthquakes
