The issue of driving safety has become a concern due to the high number of traffic accidents that have had serious consequences, including in the Ogan Komering Ilir district and Palembang city. This study aims to analyze the comparison of traffic accident incidents in the Ogan Komering Ilir district and Palembang city in 2021. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach and a sample of 115 drivers in the Ogan Komering Ilir district and 461 drivers in Palembang city who were victims of traffic accidents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This study uses univariate analysis, bivariate analysis, and analysis using independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis show that drivers who experienced traffic accidents in the Ogan Komering Ilir district had an average age of 35.78 years, were male (82.6%), worked (80.9%), did not have a driver's license (58.3%), occurred during the daytime (12.00-18.00) (33.9%), used two-wheeled vehicles (85.2%), and the most common type of accident was front collision (40%). Meanwhile, in Palembang city, the average age of the victims was 35.29 years, were male (81.8%), employed (69%), did not have a driver's license (55.2%), occurred in the morning (06.00 - 12.00) (35.5%), used two-wheeled vehicles (85.2%), and the most common type of accident was loss of control (35.8%). Bivariate analysis shows no significant relationship between age, gender, employment status, possession of a driver's license, accident time, type of vehicle, and type of accident with the impact of traffic accidents in both Ogan Komering Ilir and Palembang. The incidence of traffic accidents in Ogan Komering Ilir and Palembang is not significantly different in terms of employment status, accident time, type of vehicle, and type of accident. However, there are significant differences in terms of age, gender, and possession of a driver's license between the two areas.
