FAKTOR FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN GASTRITIS PADA MAHASISWA DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Gastritis is a digestive disorder caused by irritation of the stomach wall. Among the public, gastritis is better known as stomach ulcers. The impacts that can be caused by gastritis include bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract, anemia, stomach ulcers, and if gastritis is left alone, the risk of developing stomach cancer can increase. Gastritis can arise due to several factors such as stress, diet, sleep quality, coffee consumption habits, gender, age, and other factors. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional research design which aims to determine the factors that are related to gastritis and the most dominant factors in influencing gastritis in students at Sriwijaya University. The sample in this study was 136 respondents taken using purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis used the chi-square test and simple logistic regression test. Multivariate analysis uses multiple logistic regression tests. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between the variables gender (p-value=0.035), perception of stress sever (p-value=0.013), perception of stress light (p-value=0.018), sleep quality (p-value =0.001), and diet (p-value=0.003). The dominant factor influencing the incidence of gastritis in this study was the perception of severe stress after being controlled for the variables of gender, sleep quality, coffee consumption habits and diet. Individuals who perceive severe stress are at 9.5 times higher risk than individuals who perceive mild stress. Therefore, students are expected to be able to manage their time in doing coursework or assignments in other activities such as campus organizations so that it does not pile up and does not cause students to have a high burden on their minds.
