PERAN DINAS KESEHATAN KOTA BUKITTINGGI DALAM MENANGGAPI MASALAH GIZI BURUK BALITA
Every year there are still cases of malnutrition in the city of Bukittinggi, which is a city that is the center of progress and economic growth which can be said to be more advanced than other regions, it does not guarantee that community nutrition, especially toddlers, is in good condition. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Bukittinggi City Health Office in handling cases of malnutrition and the inhibiting factors faced by the Bukittinggi City Health Office in providing health protection to malnourished toddlers. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The number of informants was 8 people with predetermined criteria. Data collection techniques using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Furthermore, the data is processed with data analysis techniques using qualitative analysis through ethical and emic interpretations. The results showed that the Health Office has performed its functions and duties in handling cases of malnutrition among children under five. The roles and efforts made are the first prevention efforts of the Health Office to create a program according to established regulations. second with promotive efforts to educate and counsel to posyandu cadres and residents in need. Third, providing facilities and infrastructure to run the program that has been designed. The obstacles faced by the Health Office in carrying out its role come from social and economic factors of the toddler's family. The conclusion of this research is that the role of the Bukittinggi City Health Office in responding to the problem of malnutrition of toddlers has been running well in accordance with the duties and functions directed by the Government, but there are still several obstacles in the role of the Health Office and prevention that must be improved in the future.
