The gambier plant is that has a close relationship in the life of Melayu Musi tube. This study to determine the utilization of the gambier plant and the relationship of local wisdom to the utilization of the gambier plant in the Musi clan Punjung tribe comunity in Musi Banyuasin regency. This type of recerarch in descriptive research by conduting interviews in the form of in-depth interviews. Selection of respondents using the simple random sampling techique. The research was carried out in April- May 2023 in Toman village, Kasmaran Village and Babat. The result showed that has a five information on the use of gambier plants in the Musi clan Punjung tribe comunity in Musi Banyuasin Regency, namely the use of gambier plants as medicine, use as food and drink, use as a tradition, use a comodity and use as a fertilizer. Local wisdom regarding the utiization of the gambier plant besides being symbolic and characteristic of the Malay Musi tube of the punjung also has various relationship with culture, namely the Begambo Dance. The gambier is often used as a component in the suku Melayu Musi wedding and has a symbol of the strenght and firmness. The result of the research were developed into teaching materials for class X high school in the form of a bookle on KD 3.2 Biodiversity
