ANALISIS PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH ADIWIYATA DI KOTA JAMBI
This study aims to analyze waste management at Adiwiyata School in Jambi City. The method in this study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The sample in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of schools that have received the Adiwiyata award, namely SMAN 4, SMKN 4, and MAN 2 Jambi. Data was collected through observations, structured interviews with one Adiwiyata supervisor and two biology teachers of X graders, questionnaires to 42 students per school or 10% of the total student population, and documentation. The research data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity was checked through technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the source of waste in all schools is leftover food and drinks, as well as practical activities in class with organic and inorganic waste types. Efforts to reduce waste generation are carried out by bringing your drink bottles and supplies and using food/drink containers provided by the canteen. The three sample schools have provided trash bin facilities so that trash is not scattered in the school environment. Organic waste is used as compost for plants in the school environment, and inorganic waste is recycled into handicrafts. Regulations regarding waste disposal and management are carried out in the form of rules and slogans posted on each class's walls. Key words : Adiwiyata, management, waste, school.
