The sample in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of schools that have received the Adiwiyata award, namely SMAN 1 Unggulan Muara Enim, SMAN 2 Muara Enim, and SMKN 2 Muara Enim. Data was collected through observations, structured interviews with one Adiwiyata supervisor and two biology teachers of X graders, questionnaires to 38 students per school or 10% of the total student population, and documentation. The research data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity was checked through technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that green open space in the three sample schools consists of gardens, greenhouses, and TOGA, except at SMKN 2 Muara Enim, which has a school garden. The management of green open space in the three sample schools is planting and caring for plants by teachers, students, and janitors. Green open space in the three sample schools is used as an aesthetic enhancer, learning resource, and learning place.
