Palembang City is ranked 2nd nationally in cases of drug abuse. One of the negative impacts of drug abuse is changes in brain structure, namely the neurotransmitter system in the central nervous system, thereby disrupting cognitive function. Although cognitive impairment resulting from any drug substance abuse can be completely reversed, standard screening at the initial stage of treatment is important, so that the appropriate treatment path can be chosen and maximize treatment results. Therefore, it is important to know the cognitive function of drug abuse patients in Palembang City and the factors that influence it. This research uses a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 53 people was taken using the snowball sampling technique. Data was collected through interviews and filling out questionnaires. Bivariate analysis uses the chi-square test. Multivariate analysis uses multiple logistic regression tests for prediction models. Bivariate research results show that there is a relationship between types of hallucinogenic drugs and impaired cognitive function (p=0.029; PR=0.653). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that the rehabilitation variable (p=0.020; PR=16.94) was the most dominant in influencing cognitive function disorders after being controlled by the variable type of hallucinogenic drug (p=0.005; PR=10.10), type of depressant drug (p=0.537; PR=2.237), and smoking habits (p=0.537; PR=2.238). The variable type of depressant drug and smoking habits are confounding variables. This research concludes that drug rehabilitation efforts are a very important factor in healing the cognitive function of drug abuse patients. Apart from that, relevant government institutions can develop existing programs to support drug rehabilitation efforts, such as cigarette rehabilitation, improving education, and education about the relationship between smoking and drugs.
