ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to describe the values of fictional characters contained in the My Living Area Theme in the fourth grade elementary school students' books. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collection technique used is documentation. The data in this study are 18 character values, namely religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, love peace, love to read. , care for the environment, care for social, and responsibility. The source of data in this study is a fictional story contained in the Regional Theme where I live in the fourth grade of elementary school. The results of this study are the character values contained in the fictional story in the Regional Theme where I live are as many as 13 character values with a percentage of 72.2% with good information. The character values that emerge are religious, honest, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, democratic, curious, friendly/communicative, peace-loving, fond of reading, social care, and responsibility. For character values that do not appear, the teacher can instill character values by modeling good behavior at school. Keywords : Character Values, Fiction Stories, Student Books
