GAMBARAN KASUS LESI ENDO-PERIO DI RSKGM PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN TAHUN 2022
Background: Endo-perio lesion is defined as pathological communication between the endodontic dan periodontal tissues. Pulpal infection and necrosis can spread to the oral cavity through the periodontal ligament destroying the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone. Conversely, the periodontal pocket infection spread to the accessory canals to the pulp causing pulpal necrosis. The aim of this study was to determine an overview of the endo-perio lesions in 2022 at the RSKGM South Sumatera Province based on age and gender. Methods: Descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design using Surveilans Terpadu Penyakit data in 2022 from Installation Medical Record RSKGM South Sumatera Province. Endo-perio lesion patient data was recorded by age and gender. Result: There were 552 cases of endo-perio lesions consisting of periapical abscess with sinus (71,01%), periapical abscess without sinus (19,93%), chronic apical periodontitis (4,35%), acute apical periodontitis of pulpal origin (2,72%), and radicular cyst (1,99%). Most cases of endo-perio lesions were found at the age of 20-44 years (46,56%) and the fewest at the age of more than 69 years (1,81%) with more female sex (61,77%) than men (38,22%). Conclusion: The most common endo-perio lesion found in RSKGM South Sumatera Province was periapical abscess with sinus at the age of 20-44 years and the female sex.
