STUDENTS’ ENGAGEMENT IN ENGLISH ONLINE LEARNING OF 5TH SEMESTER STUDENTS ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY
The study aimed to figure out how students of 5th English Education engaged in English online learning in this pandemic Covid-19 condition where they had to attend long-distance learning. The subject of this study was the 5th semester students of English Education of Sriwijaya University. The data was collected by using students’ engagement questionnaire and descriptive analysis was used as the research design. Descriptive statistics were used for analyzing the data. The finding was revealed that students’ level of engagement in online learning was categorized into medium (52%) and the mean of students’ engagement in online learning was 54.08. This study also showed that from four aspects of students’ engagement in online learning, learner-learner as the third aspect categorized as the most dominant because its level of students’ engagement in online learning was high (63%) and the mean of learner-learner aspect in students’ engagement in online learning was 17.73. It can be concluded the most dominant aspect of students’ engagement in online learning of this study was learner-learner aspects.
