EVALUASI KESALAHAN RADIOGRAF PERIAPIKAL DENGAN TEKNIK BISEKTRIS DI RSKGM PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Background: One of the radiographs commonly used in dentistry is periapical radiography. Periapical radiograph results can be subject to various errors that affect interpretation, diagnosis, and treatment planning. The aim of this study was to evaluate the periapical radiograph error bisecting technique error at RSKGM South Sumatra Province. Method: The type of this study was descriptive observational that evaluates 219 periapical radiographs at RSKGM South Sumatra Province from 2015-2023. Periapical radiograph errors are categorized into 15 types of errors, namely dark radiograph, light radiograph, apex missing, dropped receptor corner, elongation, foreshortening, overlapped contacts, cone-cut, blurring, reticulation of emulsion, dark spot or line, light spot or line, yellow -brown color, developer cutoff, and fixer cutoff. The reliability test was conducted using Cohen's Kappa analysis. Results: Evaluation of 219 radiographs showed that there were 712 errors with the five most common errors being apex missing (20.08%), dropped receptor corner (14.18%), overlapped contacts (13.20%), dark spot or line (12.92% ), and light spot or line (12.78%). Conclusion: Periapical radiograph errors at RSKGM South Sumatra Province are still quite high and must be minimized to improve the quality of radiographs in the future.
