HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN KONTRASEPSI HORMONAL DENGAN KEJADIAN KEPUTIHAN SUSPEK KANDIDIASIS VULVOVAGINAL DI DESA BANGUN SARI KECAMATAN TANJUNG LAGO KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Background: Vaginal discharge or fluor albus or leucorhea is a condition in which fluids other than blood flow through the vagina, can be smelly or not that can be accompanied by itching around it. One common cause of leucorhea is vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). VVC is a lower reproductive tract mucosal infection caused by the pathogen fungus, Candida. The use of hormonal contraception is one of the risk factors that often trigger VVC. Hormonal contraception is a pregnancy-preventive device that uses both estrogen hormone and or progesterone which affect the body's hormonal condition. This study aims to find out the association of hormonal contraceptive use and leucorhea vulvovaginal candidiasis suspected in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. Method: This research was a quantitative observational analytical studies using cross sectional design. Research was conducted from September–November 2023 with 72 samples meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study was obtained from questionnaire filling interviews. Data processing uses SPSS with univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: The prevalence of leucorrhea VVC suspect in this study was 45.8%.
