PENGARUH KADAR SALINITAS TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BENIH IKAN KAKAP PUTIH (Lates calcarifer) DI BALAI BESAR PERIKANAN BUDIDAYA LAUT LAMPUNG
The Effect of Salinity Levels on the Growth of Barramundi (Lates Calcarifer) Seeds at the Lampung Marine Aquaculture Center. (Supervisors: Dr. Riris Aryawati., S.T., M.Si and Ellis Nurjuliasti Ningsih, S.Kel., M.Si) White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is one of the marine fish that has important economic value and contains high nutritional value as consumption fish. This fish is one of the fish with high potential for cultivation because it grows relatively fast, easily adapts to the cultivation environment and has a large enough market share for both domestic and export needs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth of barramundi fingerlings and to analyze the survival rate of barramundi fingerlings at each different salinity. This research was carried out in June 2021 at the Lampung Marine Aquaculture Center (BBPBL). The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications which referred to Rayes et al. (2013). Salinity control treatment 32 ppt, treatment A) 15 ppt salinity; B) salinity 10 ppt; C) salinity 5 ppt; and D) salinity 0 ppt. ANOVA results with a 95% confidence level showed that different salinities had significant effects on absolute weight, absolute length and survival of barramundi fry. Different salinities make a significant difference to the increase in length and weight of barramundi fry, barramundi (Lates calcarifer) fry based on research results can still tolerate low salinity from 32 ppt to 0 ppt. Keywords: barramundi, influence of salinity, marine aquaculture
