KORELASI JENIS MAKROZOOBENTOS TERHADAP FRAKSI SEDIMEN DI PULAU PAYUNG MUARA SUNGAI MUSI, BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Musi river estuary, Banyuasin Regency, Banyuasin II Sub-District, South Sumatra, is an area that serves as a fishing facility, transportation hub, and residential area. In Sumatra, there are rivers that flow from Bengkulu and empty into the Bangka Sea. One of the famous rivers is the Musi River, which runs through various areas, including the city of Palembang. The purpose of this study was to analyze the macrozoobenthic diversity of sediments on Payung Island, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted in January 2023, and the research activities included taking sediment samples, macrozoobenthos samples, and measuring environmental parameters. Macrozoobenthos, which are relatively quiescent and have low mobility, can be used as water quality indicator organisms. The temperature range in the measurements was between 27.2°C to 29.2°C. The relationship between the observation stations and the biodiversity index and ecosystems on Payung Island was found to be relatively good, with the percentage of sediment types at each station (station 1, station 2, station 3, station 4, station 5, station 6) being 77.41%, 93.98%, 93.41%, 94.29%, 88.35%, and 92.01%, respectively, categorized as clay substrates
