The high level of environmental pollution caused by improper waste treatment often causes various kinds of diseases and bad odors. Organic waste originating from living things can be used as a compost product if it is processed properly and has a good impaact on the environment. The C/N ratio is an indicator of the quality of organic fertilizers derived from the mixture and composition of the waste used. Different types of waste, mixed composition, and composting will produce different products. Therefore it is necessary on the composition and types of composting. This study aims to determine the quality of compost products based on the composition and type of waste and the fermentation process used. This research was conducted from December 2022 to May 2023 at Wins’s Family Farm, Palembang and the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathemathics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. The research phase consisted of mixing the waste, measuring temperature and pH, physical analysis (smell, color, and texture), biological analysis (germination index and MPN test). The results showed that composting carried out aerobically requires a shorter time to obtain a stable temperature an pH, smell, color and texture that meet the compost maturity requirements according to SNI, better germination index values, higher N values and lower E. coli content. The composition of the waste as much as 500gr shows an effect on the germination index which produces a greater value then fertilizer with a composition of 250gr. This shows that the compost product with aerobic fermentation of 500gr affects the organic fertilizer product. The C/N ratio affects microbial activity during the fermentation process because C and N are a source of energy and help microbes break down organic matter
