PENGARUH VARIASI JENIS PAHAT DAN KONSENTRASI CAIRAN PENDINGIN EKSTRAK DAUN PEPAYA TERHADAP LAJU KOROSI BAJA ST41 PADA PROSES PEMBUBUTAN
This research uses an experimental method which includes a turning process by varying the type of tool and the concentration of papaya leaf extract coolant, then corrosion testing is carried out. The variety of chisel types used is HSS Bohler and Assab with papaya leaf extract coolant with concentrations of 25%, 33.3% and 50%. This turning process uses 6 ST 41 steel specimens consisting of 3 specimens using Bohler HSS chisels and 3 specimens using Assab HSS chisel. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tool type and coolant concentration of papaya leaf extract on corrosion rate in 67% hydrochloric acid solution for 72 hours. From the results of the study, it is known that each specimen has a different corrosion rate value. From the 6 specimens used, it can be seen that the specimen that has the highest corrosion is the specimen using the Bohler HSS chisel using a 25% papaya leaf extract coolant concentrate with a corrosion rate value of 3,002 mpy, while the lowest corrosion rate is obtained from the turning results using the Assab HSS chisel using a 50% papaya leaf extract coolant concentration with a corrosion rate value of 2,980 mpy.
