UJI AKTIVITAS HEPATOPROTEKTOR EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN GAMAL (GLIRICIDIA SEPIUM) PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR DIINDUKSI CCL4
Gamal leaves (Gliricidia sepium) contain several secondary metabolites, considered efficacious as hepatoprotector. This study aims to determine the activity of the ethanol extract of Gamal leaves as a hepatoprotector by measuring levels of SGPT, SGOT and ALP and liver histopathology of Wistar male white rats. Mice were divided into six groups: normal group (0.5% Na CMC suspension), positive group (silimarin), negative group (CCL4 1 ml/kg, the treatment I dose 50 mg/kg, treatment II 250 mg/kg, and treatment III 500 mg/kg BW The results of the analysis of assays showed that there was a significant difference (P0.05) between test group III with positive and normal controls for levels of SGPT, SGOT, and ALP. The macroscopic appearance showed that the liver matched the criteria for a normal liver except for the negative control. Meanwhile, the histopathological picture of the liver showed improvement in liver cell tissue. Based on the relationship between the percentage of hepatoprotector effect and dose, the ED50 values of the ethanol extract of gamal leaves were 72.85 mg/KgBW for the SGPT parameter, 131.34 mg/KgBW for the SGOT parameter, and 218.92 mg/KgBW for the ALP parameter.
